About Manhattan Beach Mayor’s Youth Council

The Manhattan Beach Mayor’s Youth Council (MB-MYC) is a city-sponsored professional development program for high school students who live or attend high school in the city of Manhattan Beach.

The mission of MB-MYC is to expose young adults to a variety of careers and professions, and to inspire students to pursue their interests.

Each monthly workshop focuses on a different career arena and includes guest speakers who share their professional and personal journeys, lend safe advice, and share words of wisdom.

Group workshops challenge students to apply what they learn from speakers toward solving real challenges and creating breakthroughs.

Career topics continue to expand and include law, heath and medical, arts and entertainment, architecture, engineering and design, finance, civic and public service, non-profit service, media and news, technology, entrepreneurship, aerospace, and more.
